Has anyone had to deal with replacing the (hoists) actuators on this unit? I have an older one that is in great shape but these have failed. New ones are 1400. each and an upgrade kit to a single actuator is 3000$. I have also found after market actuators but am unsure of their specs because the shipper said they made need some grinding to make them fit. Any help with past experiences or how you may have resolved this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks John

I have been down this road before with John Deere 800s. I bought Warner linear actuators from Motion Industries and from online for normally around $400 to $500 each. Yes, if you do not buy them from John Deere, you will need to grind a little bit of frame because the mounting part you put bolts thru on actuator are longer on ones from Deere. The unfortunate part is typically only one actuator actually goes bad or is just weaker than other, but you should replace both so they are equally balanced. I will be installing hydraulic kit next time aerator needs actuators because it is more reliable and works faster that electric actuators. TIP: when you remove actuators, don't throw them away! I use the old ones for the electric boom lift on my Deere HD200 sprayer or on Deere Turf Gator TX bed lift.
    Good Luck
