Does any one have a problem with clippings building up on the front roll of the 2500?

Do you have groomers or power brushes? If so keep them on it will help you some. Also look at your grass shield, you may need adjust, open or close until you get your desired results. You can also adjust the basket so it's raised in the front creating a straight-in route for the clippings so they don't get caught on the front edge and start building up. Those are the only things I've found with ours that work, and if wet we have to run with baskets, otherwise dry cuts we're fine going without.

    Regards,

    Thank you Henry.

We use catchers/baskets at all times and the clippings still build up on the front roller, the HOC is affected and so is the quality of cut.

If you don't have any implements on the cutting units, and are using the aggressive grooved roller, Deere does sell a scraper to keep them cleaned out and off. When up north we switched to solids at certain times of the year and I made some out of round stock that bolted right to the roller brackets and worked out really well. I know some of ours have the rubber extension on the baskets that help some.

    Regards,

You mean the "snowball" effect? If so there are scrapers available from Deere as Skip said. We use them.
