Has anyone who has bought one of these tractors have any issues with the turbocharger? My Parks Dept has one with 1600 hours and it heats up and blows out the rubber intake hose from the turbo to the intake manifold. I think we are on the 4th one. Thoughts?

It operates a 16ft Progressive tow behind tri deck mower.

We have multiple of the same set-up, never an issue. But, I would check to make sure the muffler is the correct size...what goes in, must come out. If it is restricted, it's coming out somewhere.

Sounds like you may have a clogged oil line or some debris build in the turbo if its heating up. May need to check the oil lines and make sure its debris free and spins freely. Also if the air supply is restricted it will cause it to heat up. Do they keep the air filters, first and secondary changed and clean on this unit? That particular turbo should be pretty streight forward, but as with all turbos they need to be clean, cool, and have very close tolerances.

My mechanic services the unit, it does have a cab with AC on it, as well as most of their other the non-road equipment. It is serviced as required per the manual. The entire tractor and mower is checked over weekly by the mechanic. This tractor tends to run warm to hot on the temp gauge. It was just serviced with air filters(2) changed last week. Last hose lasted 159 hrs, 220 hours, 180hrs ish.

it's been to the dealer and pronounced ok before.

My fleet is mostly JD with no major problems on any of it. We have 2 pieces with turbos on them, with no problems, both pieces with well over 2k hours each +.

We are also mostly Deere, and have a good number of turbo units and no problems either. If the dealer has worked on it and says its good, then I would tend to think oil supply to the turbo may be the issue, but without taking it apart and seeing it myself it is really hard to say. I would say if the tractor runs somewhat warm maybe try a lower rated thermostat and see if you can get it to run cooler and maybe that will help. Check the cooler for the turbo also and make sure there are no restriction there, the cooler could be restricted on the inside too. There is no reason that you should blow a hose with that few of hours on it.
