Got a chance to demo a new 2500 triplex, setup for greens but considering for greens or tees and approaches...any feedback on this unit as well as the 8000 e-cut?

    Thanks

I bought 2 2500 E last spring... Pretty good so far... A few minor issues that Deere recalled.

Mechanic and I are happy with them, looking to get 2 more more for tees and approaches.

These replaced 2 2500 diesels from 2002. Cut is vastly improved over older units. Still use one of the diesels for approaches.

Can't do anything about the fwy mower. Mine is a 7500 that is 6 seasons old. I'd buy that again also.

Just leased 5 2500's (3 new and 2 used) and 6 7500's. No problems. Didn't think the ease of set up would make the mechanics so happy but a feature they truly appreciate now that we have it. Very pleased with quality of cut and hearing great things from neighboring course about reel and bedknife life on sand topdressed surfaces...an added bonus I did not consider during the lease process. 2500's used on tees and approaches. Haven't seen any negatives.

I have 5 2500E Hybrid mowers, 2 set up for greens at .115 with groomers at .080, very happy with the quality of cut, put the prism down and see no stragglers, 3 set up for tees and approaches at .375, no groomers great quality of cut. No complaints from super or GM. Fairways done with 3 7500E Hybrids set at .475, no FTC, quality of cut is great.

From mechanic stand point love the Speed link HOC adjustment, makes checking mowers a breeze, Bed knife to reel adjustment with the click adjusters some much easier than the old ones. Only problem we have had so far with cutting units is they sometimes go out of square, easily noticed when adjusting bed knife and one side will not adjust properly. We are on lease and I would have to say that our dealer when we have issues is quick about getting a tech or a new part to me so we don't have down time.

I have 2 2500 E's. I love them except for two issues; one after awhile the catch for the buckets dont work. The buckets would fall off. I was told I need to replace the entire bucket!! The other issue is where the chain mounts the the reel for lifting the rear of the reel casing. The pins keep breaking and the chain falls over, causing the rear of the reel casing to drag.

Other then those two issues, I love them

We've just started with John Deere this year. I am happy with the gators and pro-goator. We have a couple of issues with the mowers. I am hoping that it is just learning the new equipment and we'll get things ironed out soon. I am finding the 8800's are leaving some mohawks between the decks. We have bernhard grinders and the rep was saying that they do not set-up well for the JD reels. What grinders are you guys using? Has any one else heard this claim?

    Thanks
