We have 9 of the original Jacobsen Eclipse walkmowers. Two of them will frequently display the message "over voltage". When this happens the reel stops turning. How can be fixed, or do I need to order a replacement part?

The only thing I can find in the manual refers to "adjusting generator output".

    Thanks,

    Robert,

Assuming that the mower is working properly, you can adjust the RPMs on the Honda motor down slightly to solve this problem. I think over time vibration causes the throttle to work itself loose causing the motor to run at a higher rpm than intended. This in turn causes the gen set to spin too fast. We set ours every spring to about 46.5-47.0 Volts. It's an easy fix if that is the problem. Good luck.

Same here. when we had that come up with one mower. Reducing the maximum throttle level solved it

    James,

I have had the Eclipse walkers since they came out, and when we get the overvoltage message, what we have always found is that our employee wanted the mower to go faster, so he "rigged" the throttle faster by bending it slightly with his fingers. Check your throttle linkages to make sure they're all intact.
