Anybody have an idea why the center cutting unit on our JD 2500b greensmower is raising and lowering slowly? It has gotten worse over time. Thanks!

I believe the drop and lift speed is dependent on the size of a orifice on the rear lift hydraulics. I believe they are located on the fittings where the lines connect to the cylinder. The size of the orifice controls the speed of the lift and lower. Ask your John Deere service about it.

Keith is correct. If it is changing though I would clean the orfice to make sure they are not plugged up with something and also test the lift cylinder itself to make sure it's not an internal leak.

The first two responses are on to something. Ive seen little chunks of O-ring get caught in them and it slows everything down on that circuit
