Hi I am contemplating buying a HS 48-11 DS Tru Turf side roller .

Where I work in Saudi we have no chance of demo .

I have only ever had triplex rollers , but feel the triplex method isn't as effective for us here .

Can anyone share their thoughts on this particular machine or any others from Tru Turf .

Many thanks in advance for any info .

    RGs Nic

I demoed one a few years back and loved it, we just could not afford it at the time. I just ordered Toro's Greens pro 1200 model which I believe is the same thing but with a steering wheel instaed of a joy stick.

I agree with you on Tri-Plex rollers. I had them and gave them away because I thought they were a waste of time. Why roll your greens and then make tire tracks right behind the roller?

I have had the Tru-Turf R48-11C for several years now. I like it and would recommend it.

Ditto. Great machine for everyday/frequent rolling, easy transport and operation.

True-Turf is the only way to go. I have tried several other rollers and the True-Turf still is my favorite.

Excellent machine! We had the 48in. gasoline powered roller at my last course and really liked it. I will add that it does not do as well as a Salsco type for smoothing down after aerification, but outside of that I would prefer it over any others, as we did demo quite a few.

Gentlemen many thanks for your replies . Very comforting as when you cant demo stuff , its real difficult to be sure you don't get a lemon . Our greens are sensible for slopes and surrounds for access and safety , no deep bunkers to accidentally slide into .

Many thanks for all your input from 42 C and dripping humidity.
