I would like to know what is the lifetime of your green mowers (walk behind) mowing daily?
Usually my equipment was "ok" for 5 years and more ..... nowadays, after 3 years there is so much maintenance and part replacement... suggesting it's replacement.
What is your average? Thank you for any comment.

I'm in Wisconsin and mow 5-7 days/week depending on growth. I forecast rotating mowers out after 9 years use. I anticipate swapping out the reel stock after 3 years of use. Toro Flex 2100s.

    Hello Glauco:

How is Brazil? If you can put hour meter on the machine I would say anything over 4000 hrs. would start to be a concern. Since I also work over seas I see machines double this time and should have been replaced years ago still working .. In the US, equipment lease packages with extra machines, ( 8) instead of 4 or 5 for example they never get to even 1500 hrs. so you do not see the metal fatigue etc. You are in a year round climate so 4 year would be maximum for replacement.

We just replaced our 2007 Flex 21 with @3500 hours of use this year. During this time, we also had our older 2003 21's as emergency backups and for use after topdressing. During that ten year period I replaced the reels w/bearings twice on the 2007's. I could probably have whipped another 7 years out of these units before they needed some major overhaul of the transmission or in-depth bearing swap involving seized parts. People forget just how expensive a walking greens mower is to purchase new. They are not very involved to service. At worst, you might need an engine replacement or expensive transmission part to keep them running reliably for years.

So to answer your question about lifespan, (provided you have a system of backup mowers to facilitate having one go down for an unforeseen problem monthly) a really really long time.

We, and most other people, replace them when more features become available on newer models.

    Typically 3. 3.5 hours for 20 greens.
