Gandy slit seeder belt

    The belt that drives the cutting blades on our Gandy slit seeder broke and the distributor wants $330 for a new one. Checked NAPA, R&R, etc. with no luck - apparently it's an unusual belt. Anyone dealt with this and found a cheaper option? Thanks.

    not that specific machine, but I have found some hard to find parts/belts at Granger's.

    After breaking a couple, they were expensive but not $330 wow, we removed pulleys and replaced with cogs and double roller chain. Also used slip clutch on pto to reduce wear.

    That's a great idea. Have you had any issues resulting from changing from the belt to the chain? Ran it past our mechaninc today and he loved it too - and he normally hates everything. He got the belt but if it happens again, wouldn't be suprised if goes with the chain idea.
