I was always red, but in 2008 I purchased a John Deere 7500 sight unseen(municipal contract), and I am extremely happy with it. I'd buy another. 25 acres of fairways, 2 mowers circle cut on bent , 2 hours 50 minutes... I'd do it again.

The best thing you can do is demo each mower, so you can get a feel for them. They both are going to last the same amount of time. Can not go wrong with either one.

The machines seems to be pretty much equal these days. I think it boils down to the distributor. Who can get the parts you need to you the fastest. And who will provide the most support after the sale. For us, the local Toro distributor was by far the best.

I am mostly Deere and like their equipment very well...great service and great parts, not to mention the dealership is about 10 minutes away. But for you, it would probably be best to sit down with each company and get all the details about their equipment, service, parts, and especially warranties. After you get all that, call some of your local superintendents and find out which company seems to back their equipment up in your area.

    Good Luck
