I have a John Deere 2155 that was built in 1987. There is NO hour meter on the tractor presently. I am trying to figure what the estimated hours this tractor could've accumulated. I am trying to compare the purpose of getting a new/used tractor. Any help would be appreciated.

I've got some 1982 and 1983 Deere's with well over 20,000 hours on them. Still run like a champ. But, our workman's comp guru is cracking down on us because they don't have safety switches and seat belts. Probably gonna have to replace them with new ones that do.

Do you have records for fuel use, then check with dealer on Gal per hour average that will give you the numbers you need. For a few bucks you can buy an after market hour meter.

How often is it used? We have a Kubota that we use to pull rough mowers, leaf blower, etc. that is just over 1000 hours for 2 years of use...April thru October up here. Have another tractor that might pull a water barrel, box scraper that might have 100 hours for a year.
