I have been waiting for Textron to come out with a equipment management program since purchasing TKV. See the new "MY Turf" is underperforming so what else is out there?
    All ideas are welcome...

I'm curious, exactly what do you want performed?

What I am interested in seeing is a preventative maintenance schedule based on hours logged with the option to adjust based on conditions.
The program can have parts catalogs, manuals pre loaded and a way to calculate cost of ownership tied into history.
I am seen something as simple as an excel spread sheet to over designed computer software.
    Simple is better.

Some guys are using TRIMS. Also, John Deere has something similar out now.

I don't use computer software. I have two blank forms I fill out for each machine.
1 Maint log- record all maint and costs
2 Maint shcedule- a custom schedule with specs such as spark plug #, valve lash etc.
I could attach them if you'd like.

The few software based print outs of maint records I've seen are very impressive looking and obviously fraudulent. Way too tempting to click "done" and record tasks that are never actually done.

Roland, if you wouldn't mind could you attach your maint log and maint schedule that you use. Its one of my goals over this coming winter to get out of the dark ages and get a computer and have all parts and service documented on a computer and not on paper.

Sean, I print these out as blank forms, fill them out by hand and keep them in a file for each machine.

Maint Log- The habits to get into to make this work are:
    1) Get this out on a clipboard on the table while working on a machine so you don't forget to record what's done. This is the hardest habit to get into.
    2) All parts kept in stock need to be labelled with the price when they are received immediately when unpacked so that all important info ($) will be readily available when adding to the log

Maint Schedule- The habits to get into are:
    1) Use the OEM schedule as a starting point and find out from other techs what really needs to be done and not done
    2) List all applicable specs and info you need for service so you don't have to hunt for it when servicing
    3) Label each machine with the hours or date due and get the operators to pay attention and give a heads up when it's due
