We have a 2012 fleet of precedent club cars. After the cars sat all winter we are having issues with the batteries not lasting more than 9 holes and they are only 2 years old. Club Car says there is an issue with the OBC (On Board Computer) not allowing the car to fully charge. Has anyone else seen this with 2012 Precedent?

It sounds like an ongoing problem for Club Car! They owe you new computers or at least key components.

We also have 2012, but gas. I had problems with about 10 or doing the same thing and not holding charge. I feel it is the batteries themselves. Talked to member who played an area course and had that problem too with electric. Super there kept plugging them back in and after a few charges they run fine. But huge inconvenience.

I know with certain electric carts that the new chargers won't kick on if the charge drops below a certain level. When this happens, we typically charge using a regular battery charger, then plug them into the charger the cart came with and it typically works.

The charger I have at the house works the same way when I try to charge my boat. I have to jump start my boat, let it charge a bit with the motor running, then throw on the battery charger.

Attention the Club Car person who decided to discontinue the DS line.
We ran club car DS's (10) from 97', (4) from 99' bought new.
We are replacing our fleet and you discontinued the DS model!
A proven affordable unit but we had to switch to EZGO's affordable model.
As Trump would say "Your Fired".

Must be the same person that decided the Carry-all needed an overhaul. Not sure why someone would ruin a proven and reliable vehicle by redesigning it and getting rid of the Kawasaki FE-300 engine. One of the most proven engines on the market.....we have several from 1998 still running like a champ. And if they did go through a redesign, why not make the cargo bed interior dimensions 3/4" larger to fit a standard 48" toolbox.

Thanks for the informaition. They are in the process of changing all the on board computers out. I was told that the new ones coming out will have the computer in the chargers now. I agree we were forced to go with the prcedent because the IQ was discontinued. They were bullet proof.

I am having the same issue. We run Visage GPS units on our cars and we only have the 5.5 software and need 6.0. I have just tested 144 batteries and 15 of those with out question are 100% bad. After testing 864 battery cells I found two cells fell into the 1.250-1.280 specific gravity reading (100% state of charge ) found very few in the 75% range, most in the 50%-25% range. We have 100 carts in our fleet and only been using 2/3 of that so far this year and I figure each cart has at least 6-10 rounds on them (600 rounds YTD as of now) and we have had to tow in a lot of carts that do not make 18. For a week we took readings off every cart that went out on the course. 90% of the cars that do go 18 are on there last leg and there is no way they would go 36. We have big problems :x We are working with Clubcar right now and I have all the confidence that they will make this right. We figured that every time we have to pull a cart off the course it costs $150-$200 that the club has to eat from labor and comps and not to mention the embarrassment of the situation.

    Darak,

You are experiencing the exact same situation we have been going through. We were told the OBC's were not allowing the carts to completely charge and so they are going to change all of the on board computers. We also run the visage system.

Thanks everyone for their feed back. I hate to see anyone haveing issues, but it is nice to know your not crazy when a distributer tells you they have never heard of this before.

Either your distributer isn't keeping informed by Club Car, which I would hope is not the case, or I would worry about your distributer.
