We are having charging issues with our 7yo DSIQ Club Cars. If we plug them in the charger may not turn on. If we take the yellow fuse holder apart (top of picture), twist the fuse, put it back together and plug it back in, the charger comes on. This has happened to three cars five times and numerous other cars. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Scott,

I know we have had issues with the charger kicking on with several of our older Club Cars. It appears that once the batteries go below a certain charge, the charger won't kick on. We will charge with another battery charger, then plug them in to the Club Car charger and it works. However, if the batteries are old and not holding a charge for very long, this will repeat until the batteries are changed out. Sometimes happens if you have a battery with a dead cell.

How old are the batteries in your carts?

We changed out all the batteries last year. Once we play with the fuse the car will charge to completion and be fine. How about electrical contact grease?

Scott, have you checked the on board computers. Club Car had a tough time the last few years with the computers and batteries not being in sync. The computer was preventing them from taking a full charge for some reason. You may have a completely different issue but at least have the computers checked out.

We keep a known good computer in stock in order to test the existing computer. We checked a couple and they seemed to be okay. The cars are seven years old with their third set of batteries. They look and feel good, but they go all year and we about 65,000+ rounds per year.
