Checking reel speeds on Toro Triplex Cancel The title field is required!

   Just wondering if anyone has tried checking the reel motor speed on Toro triplex mowers. The operator's manual has recommended rpm specs, but I have never testing this before. Anyone with this kind of experience?

   Use a photo-tach with the reflective tape. Just put a square of tape on the end of one of the blades where you can aim the tachometer straight at it so you can get your reading. Proceed the same with each cutting unit. Be sure and back your bedknife way off so you don't build any heat and contact.
