Is anyone using a belt grinder for sharpening rough mower blades instead of the traditional wheel grinding method?

    Thanks,

    Derek,

I use 60 grit flap disks on my angle grinder. I find this gives me better control when I am sharpening the blades.

Ditto on the flap discs... I've tried all methods over the years and 60, or 35 grit - depending on the blade, flap discs perform best and yield better quality results.

I went to using a right angle die grinder a couple years ago. I like the smaller amount of metal that is taken away, and I feel I've got excellent control. Prior to that, the flap disc was great as well.

I use an RBG-712 grinder by Wall Enterprises. Very fast, repeatable consistent angles, ceramic grinding discs. Had it 3 years now and been very satisfied. Video online.

My partner and I have a reel sharpening business on the side and we use a belt
grinder with cermaice belts low heat on blades, very nice. The table on it is set up for
    rotary blades.
