    Hi all,

We are replacing a Toro Proline walk behind mower with a 48" deck that is used mostly on bunker slopes along with our clubhouse yard.

The guys have commented on that this is the best mower they have had for the job, and so we are looking to replace it with another Toro. My question is looking on comments for those that might have the gear drive instead of the hydraulic drive. We have the hydraulic drive unit which has performed well on the slopes. We have had the unit about 6 years of heavy use and I wouldn't say abuse, but unfortunate mishaps on some of the slopes. So we felt we have got our money's worth, and we know how well it works, but wonder if we can save $1,600 and get the gear drive instead.

    Thanks!

    Mel

If you're planning to back up frequently/moderately with normal operations, I'd suggest getting the hydro. Much easier to operate.
