We are in the process of having to add seat belts to all of the older tractors that did not have them originally available from the manufacturer when purchased. The two main ones I am concerned with right now are a 1982 Deere 2040 and a 1984 Deere 2155. We are in touch with Deere about their recommendations, but so far have not heard back from them.

Has anybody else been required to do this?

I have found some aftermarket seats with belts available, just looking for ideas.

Kubota has a program for older tractors without ROPS or seatbelts. Had them do my personal old 1980's mini for me and it cost about $500. Have no idea if Deere has a similar program but the work done on mine was basically just a bolt on with an added seat belt- not very complicated.

    Andy-

Are the seat belts required on tractors without ROPS?

    Thanks,
    Wags

From what I was told, all equipment with ROPS has to have a seatbelt. I only have one tractor without ROPS, and have yet to dig into that situation. It's an older tractor we rarely use, so not in a rush to figure it out.
