I have a John Deere 3215B fwy mower. We started Mowing this spring and this unit seems to have power issues going up hills when the reels are down and mowing but no problems going up hills when the reels are not on. We had no problems with this in the past, any ideas?
    Thanks

Hydraulics... We had a demo years back and had the same issue with a brand new machine and it turned out to be a hydraulic problem. I want to say an o-ring but I can't remember where or what exactly it was. If you can get a hold of test equipment you can run some basic test to see where your issues might be. Is this a 4 wheel drive unit?

    Regards,

    Henry

Not familiar with the 3215B, but I am familiar with engines, Before you tear into the hydraulics, take the time to replace the fuel filter first. It's hard to imagine the pressures required for the injector system to work properly and with starting a new season there could be some sediment restricting flow. Besides a 5 dollar fuel filter could be a very cheap fix to your problem.

I guess I should have asked a few more questions. Does the engine sound like it's dying down and losing power, or does it seem to keep RPM's and feel like it's in the traction unit? If the engine is dropping off then I agree it may be the fuel filter. If the filter has been changed already and it still feels like the engine is dying then pull the petcock from the tank and check the screen as your clog may be there. Keep us posted.

Thanks goes out to you guys. After an adjustment in the linkage to the hydro pump it seems to be better. Still going to change the hydro fluid and filter plus the fuel filter this week.
