So I keep breaking the same reel motor belt on my 2500E. The unit will turn on for about 3 seconds then slow down and shut off, and untimately break. The bearings and sprockets seem to be in good condition. Dealership says its probably the electric motor. Which doesn't add up to me. Sounds more like a sales pitch to sell a $450 part. Any Ideas?

    Robert,
Check the key way that holds the sprocket on the shaft. We had one that had worn the key slot so there was a little slop every time the motor turned on. This was giving the belt a jolt every pass. Service tech found it and fixed it and we haven't had another problem with the motor. Good Luck

    Curt,

Good call. Just took the motor apart and found a little play in the sprocket. Thank you!
