Is anyone else out there having any problems with having to replace the steering racks in the 2010 RXV ez-go gas golf cart. We have 90 carts in each fleet at our two public golf courses. We have had to replace 30 steering racks, 6 during the 2012 season and then 24 during the 2013 season.

We have 2008 Electric, pretty sure they're the same, and they are very fragile, seems like every week one or two goes out.

We have had to replace many also. We were told by the ezgo tech that the right rack boot had holes in it, allowing moisture and water in the rack allowing it to fail. The holes supposedly came from bent lower "a" arms causing the boot to hit the strut spring. I don't believe it, but that is what we had to do to get some of the racks replaced under warranty. So, the boots still rub and wear after we replaced the arms. According to the tech, that issue has been resolved with the new model cars.

I posted a similar EZ GO report a couple of months ago and got a similar reply. We replaced probably 45 of 50 now in 4 years. Our last fleet of Club Car did not have one front end replaced with the same idiotic golfers driving them.

There is a design fault and when the driver pulls the wheel all the way left or right it rubs on the rubber bushing. Then water and grit get in there and help the degradation process. About one third of the 45 were rubbed through. The others simply could not take day to day punishment like the Club Car does because the front end is in front of the axle and takes the brunt of a hit. EZ Go should have stepped up to the plate and acknowledged their shortcoming and given a least replacement parts at cost or better yet for free.

I believe they have changed the newer model to better distribute the punishment. Goodbye EZ Go hello Club Car for next fleet.
