   How has everyone else faired with the gnats? We had them so bad it was almost impossible to look up. I had a golfer approach me today, he was bitten so bad that his eyes swelled and was out of golf for 3 weeks.

   Went up to Aronimick Tuesday. I think they are worse in Philly than in DC. I bought that Beecomist spray system for the back of a Clubcar back in the day. I think it helped. I pick range a couple of nights each week and heard two members talking about "the bugs." One claimed it was because all the bats had died, according to the Washington Post anyway.    We have problem with gnats for several years. The best thing we've found as far as keeping them away from us is a mixture of listerine, absorbene jr. and vanilla in equal parts. Then spray in on clothing and use your hands to put it in your face area. They are around but don't seem to bite.

   I had an assistant who swore by English Leather. He kept it in his cart and gave it to golfers who complained. I never tried it, but it seemed to work.
