   Have noticed a few of the "worms" crawling across greens in the am. If you look closely you can see there several; about a hundred or so, small "worms" incased in a slime and they move as one. Kind of leapfrog style over each other to propel themselves forward. I think they might be the larval stage of centipedes or the such just not sure. No damage has appeared but in 25 years I have never seen anything like this on the golf course. Any thoughts of suggestions are welcome.

   Larry thanks for the link with information to my mystery pest. I agree that this spring has been wetter than in the past, but I will have to re-evaluate the too thatch, and too high an OM on greens, maybe these gnats know more about my greens environment than I do.    I admit it, i googled space herpes. I loved that movie!! Brings back memories
