We have a considerable amount of brick paver cart paths at our facility and I am at my wits end in controlling the annual weeds that pop up between the bricks and along the edges. It is extremely time consuming to send a crew member out weekly to spot spray paths with glysophate type products, not to mention trying to keep players off the paths until the product dries. Anyone out there had to deal with this? We have thought about pre-emergents, but are concerned about the run off. Any suggestion would be helpful. Thanks everyone.

We add Sureguard to glysophate type products when we spray and it works very well.

Prodiamine in with the roundup will work just fine. Also, very economical.

Second the sure guard. Keith suggested it in a post last year and I tried it. It works well. As for prodiamine I would think the yellow tint wouldn't be good unless your in Kansas. (bad joke)

Another vote for SureGuard - it's awesome. I think you get a little quicker knockdown too when it's mixed with glyphosate than with glyphosate alone. My understanding from a recent conversation with a Valent rep is that it is pretty immobile in the soil so run off isn't a huge concern. We use it in several areas that we had to treat once a week before we started using it now we can go 3 or 4 weeks with minimal new germination.

If you were in the south, I'd tell you to use Specticle. Hardly anything grows after a couple apps of that stuff!

In the past I have sprayed pavers with a backpack sprayer and pre-emerge (usually barricade). For a quick fix, I have used a handheld blowtorch and burnt them back.

We use Karmex. Which is a soil sterilant. Mix some glysophate with it and there will be no more weeds.
The Karmex is pretty cheap also.
