I have an unidentified pest on a couple of my greens. I am getting quarter size holes that goes straight down to the gravel layer. There is no soil around the hole, no one ever sees anything going into or coming out of the holes. If you fill the holes up they are there again the following morning. Has anybody ever had this problem and what might be the solution. I have tried several pesticides, filling the holes, cutting and patching over the holes and it is just moves over a foot or so and I have a new hole in a couple of days

Is it possible that your GM or golf pro has graduated from the stimp meter.......... to the soil probe?

I think that counts as a pest?

If there was a pile of greens-mix I would suspect cicada killers.

Coupling loose or hole in drain tile? Can you find the outlet and see if you get soil mix? Kenneth Ingram, UMD.
