Just curious to see if anyone has been using Bayer's new Tribute Total herbicide and what kind of results you may be seeing. I spot sprayed a few 15 gallon tanks out last Wednesday at the 3 ounce/ac rate (highest rate)and have been very disappointed so far, seeing little result as I rode around today. Used plenty of sticker though we did get about a half inch that evening. The label says to reapply if rain occurs within a couple of hours but it had to be at least 8 hours before the course received any precipitation. Any thoughts?

    Brad,

The three active ingredients in Tribute Total are of themselves slow acting to begin with. Have some more patience.

Check the ph of tank mix water. The label says ph around 6 is best, also the us
    e of additives are recommended

We have been trying it the for the past couple of weeks. We're mostly spot spraying Doveweed, Crabgrass, & Goosegrass on TifSport.

    [u">15 gal. Sprayer[/u">
    Tribute - .030 oz./1000 = 0.5oz.
    MSO - .166 oz./1000 = 2.5oz.

It took about 14 days to see any effects and thus far it seems to be taking the weeds out with no injury to the turf. However, it's still too early for me say that this single app. gives 100% control.

12-14 days for us. We sprayed a bottles worth on goose, crab, broadleaves, dove, sedges and signalgrass. Slow death yes, but no harm to bermuda.

Thank you gentlemen. Started seeing a little more discoloration of the targeted weeds today. Very slow on the doveweed and goosegrass but seemed to knock back the buttonwood pretty quickly. I was aware how slow Revolver is but expected a little more effect on the doveweed and sedge with the Celcius and Sedgehammer. I've been spraying Monument, Celcius with a little Speed Zone with great success but the goosegrass really got going in the last couple of weeks so I switched to the Tribute. For $300 to treat 2 acres, I didn't want to waste the bossman's money.

I still see nothing wrong with using Illoxan on Goose. Sometimes the older chemistry often gets overlooked, but there is a reason that it has been around for as long as it has.

Agreed. Just hoping for that magic bullet! I'm stretched thin as it is. We can all dream, right?

It may be a slow death, but so far everything I put it on dies. I am especially happy with how it takes out St. Augustine in one app with not discoloration to the bermuda. I inherited quite the St. Augustine problem and this will be the biggest part of my program moving forward.

That's great info. If it ever stops raining I'll boom spray a couple of weedy areas in the perimeter rough that includes encroaching St. Auggie from the HOA.

I have been using the 3 oz/A rate and have seen great results on sedge. Doveweed on the other hand takes a hit but needs another app to really have an effect. It seems to work ok on goosegrass also. Just didn't turn out to be the awesome "kills all" we thought it might be. We are going to go back to using separate products (Certainty, Illoxan, Celsius, etc.) and experiment with making our own mixture due to the steep price tag for only 2 acres.

I just spot sprayed some goose, sedge, v. button, and crab today so I will try and remember to post results as well.
    3oz/A w/MSO.
