For the past several years I have used Bayleton for preventative Fairy Ring control with success (2 apps in Spring - 30 days apart on Tifeagle). I was considering using something different this year & was looking at Torque.

Has anyone used it for this purpose & would care to share their thoughts, application timing, & rates.

    Thanks,

    Chris,

I was like you and always used the Bayleton at full rate, two apps 30 days apart. I would never have fairy ring. However, last spring I went cheap and used Tartan instead at full label rate, two apps 30 days apart. I spent the rest of the summer chasing fairy ring. I have since gone back to the Bayleton app instead and looking to do our next application this coming week. If you look at the applied a.i. in the Tartan vs. the applied a.i. in the Bayleton, you'll see the Tartan provides a lot less of the Triadimefon.

Torque and Bsyleton have different actives.

We've been successful with Torque but our success has been on bentgrass in the transition zone.

You are correct. I was mistaking Torque for Tartan, which does have the same a.i. as Bayleton.

Used Bayleton with great success for 4 years on greens then no control. Have gone with either Torque or Tourney each year since and remain clean (knock on wood). Generic Tebucanazole is so affordable I can use it on my fairways for fairy ring.

Been using Torque on Poa/Bentgrass greens in East County San Diego, Ca. the last 2 years and have seen great control of Fairy Ring and Yellow Patch. It is not expensive at all compared to Pro Star. Great product and will continue to use it throughout the year. It also can be used for other diseases other than fairy ring.

We have used Torque on Tifdwarf greens for the past three years, two apps in the Spring, no fairy ring all season.

Torque is my plan as well, on Champion greens in Atlanta.

I struggled with Fairy ring the past 2 years. This year I'm going with Bayleton, 30 days later- Triton, 30 days later Pro Star. This is Bayers guarantee program. If by chance there is still a break out Bayer sends out Prostar at the curative rate for free. Sure hope it works.

We used Torque (known as Folicur in these parts) for the first time last year. It worked great for us and are using the same this year. We have paspalum greens. We made 2 apps, thirty days apart, at 1oz / 1000.

I used Tartan last year in fall and again in Spring with 2 apps 30 days apart on Champion. No summer fairy ring or decline issues compared to the previous year. Switched to Headway this year with the same applications. Were see how it goes. Torque is a good product and much cheaper. If you wanna save even more $$ try Sipcam Advans Clearscape for 1/3 the price of Torque. Same Ai.

    Thanks everyone for the comments!
I'm going to go ahead & give it a try using Quali-pro's Tebuconazole-3.6f

Have used torque for 3 years now and am seeing great control. I Water it in a few minutes each time. Have seen it help quite a bit with dollar spot prevention with very high pressure as well. Im spraying Crenshaw Bent in NW NC.

.6 oz/m in March and April, about 4 weeks apart.
