I've never seen brown patch look like that and your lack of rainfall would have me leaning in a totally different direction. Have you pulled a soil test lately? Anything out of whack? Does the area respond to foliar type feeding? How much and what kind of granulars have you used?

With the list of fungicides you have applied, I cannot attribute this condition to an active disease. Without seeing it first-hand and having a little more background, its all just a shot in the dark. I would begin to seriously consider somehting other than disease, or spend the $120 and send off a sample to a lab. Disease diagnosis is alot cheaper than the fungicide you've used.

My push up greens (9 hole executive) have roots four inches deep and look good. My USGA greens have no roots, but still look okay. We aerified this week and applied 25#/M 4-4-4 Bolster. Water appears to be getting down into the profile now. We are going to apply Nemacur next week. I think my issue is nematodes and moisture stress.

Soil test was done in april, nothing out of ordinary....been hammering liquids, wetting agents, hand watering, sodex for soil flush (salts possible with lack of rain) quick release ammonium sulphate twice, using slow release greens mix weekly again now too..nematode assay and disease check done today, should have result soon....curfew on greens scheduled for June 23rd.

I used the 4-4-4 as a preplant and now once with aerification. My grow-in went much faster than anticipated. If the healing time from the aeration is quicker I will continue to use it. Plus the smell lets them know you are doing something! (Actually, the smell goes away after you irrigate and it dries.)

We have some similar issues. TifDwarf actually shooting up seedheads and turf is yellow and wilted. Been watering in the afternoons to prevent drought stress. Applied Curfew this past Sunday, as I think the seedheads are sign of stress to the plant from Nematodes / drought / and lack of roots to uptake nutrients.

We've done same as you, fungicides, flushed salts, etc...areas have grass, but look like crap. Ours isn't as prevalent though. I feel for ya, bud.

    Andy,
In the browned out areas, there is Bermuda, just waiting for it to pop, sickening. i am used to normal weak areas that plugs and milorganite fix every year, this is out of control. i am hoping the curfew will kick them in the butt, never done it here and have had nemacur for 2 years.....innoculaid isnt nemacur...

We have also had luck lessening the severity of the 'Todes using MultiGuard. Our Curfew was planned a year ago, but areas started showing up about 6-8 weeks ago. Wouldn't respond to fert like normal. Applied the three recommended apps of MultiGuard and have seen some good, significant responses leading up to the Curfew. Hoping to stay on the MultiGuard along with Nortica for the remainder of the summer.

I would do everything I could to baby those things until you Curfew. Irrigate in the afternoons to prevent drought stress and shutting the plant down, more frequent foliar fertility - we were doing three times a week, and solid tine as much as possible. Raising the height of cut of course helps. And don't be afraid to apply a starter fertilizer with lots of Phosphorus. Your new plants will need it to get going.

Speaking of Nortica....we applied last spring at Bayer's recommended rates on one of our other courses. Didn't see anything happen all year until about October. Then, once January rolled around greens begin growing prematurely and have looked nothing but exceptional all spring. Root density and length were and still is awesome. We Curfewed those greens in early May since the application was planned, but honestly, didn't see a need to. Greens were great without it and we didn't do anything different except for the Nortica. My thoughts are the Nortica takes time to establish and populate and protect the new roots. The Nortica reps are coming Monday to evaluate. But, I can tell you from my luck, Nortica will be applied on all three courses this summer / fall in hopes we see similar responses next spring.

    thanks for the info.
yeh we are liquid 2-3 week + wetting agents + hand watering and syringe+ rasie HOC..
I thought the nortica was spring only and soil temp related, gonna give it a whirl though and the multigaurd is new to me. got my starter fert in today! thanks again for the input brother!
