Question for all, we are in the transition zone.

Used Katana successfully last year, worked great on our rye, clover, poa (that our round up didn't get) and I thought even our dandelions (even though we went at the 1.5 oz/acre app. not the recommended 3 oz for dandelions.) Didn't think it worked well on our knot-weed. Was reading the label, realized it's not on it, any suggestions for the knot-weed? Something that can be tank mixed?

    Thanks!

    Mel,
my course is located in Pevely, Mo. south of Saint Louis. We used a combination of Threesome for ArmourTech(advancedturf.com/images/uploads/resources/threesomeLabel.pdf) and Quali-Pro 2D on our bermuda. Knocked out the knotweed really well. I can look up the rates for you. It is a troublesome weed for us and this combo works great. Good luck.

    Mel,

Manor at the .5 oz. rate will clean knotweed right up. I used it last year on vamont with huge success. It is a slow working product, but great results. Keep the rate at .5 even if a sales rep tells you to go with the 1 oz. rate. If you have zoysia in your Bermuda fairways, the higher rate will yellow it. Manor is your answer.

Mel I can't help but your post just reminded me of how troubling knotweed can be in bermuda. A couple of times I've seen bermuda winterkill and the plots are darn near solid knotweed the next summer. Not a bad fairway turf that knotweed. Kenneth Ingram, UMD

Thanks Kenneth, what is the HOC I need to get that knotweed to be my friend? Reminds me of some friends that worked at a course in the northeast, had a terrible crabgrass problem on tees, his golfers didn't seem to mind it during the summer, as there was something to hit off of.

Michael, by you using the word combination, would that mean you are mixing those two products together in the same tank? Or are you spraying one and then coming back later with the other?

    Thanks!!
