What is everyone using for goose grass in their tifeagle greens? Anyone boom spraying for it? If so, what rates. I hear different things from different people and would appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.

Revolver. It's on the label. We use it on our TifDwarf with no issues. We use the 17.4 ounce rate, 3 weeks apart, no sticker. I would suggest, to be safe on the Eagle, to pick a day when you don't mow to apply. Lower HOC's show more injury. But, we apply when mowing at .120-.140" no problem. Doing an app Monday.

Of course, we also spray our Dwarf with Illoxan with no problems either. Not sure if I would try it on Eagle.

    Andy,

I have dwarf greens as well and always use revolver. My question for you is what rate of Illoxan are you applying to your greens? Under what weather conditions? What time of year? and what height of cut are you on your dwarf. Have you notice any root decline or other toxicity. I would love to use Illoxan in rotation if possible.

1 Qt/acre, no sticker, by itself, always around July 4th. That time of the year, probably .140".

Never noticed any problems, root decline or otherwise.

Illoxan works great for us. HOC @.120 on TifEagle, never experienced any issues whatsoever and has worked great for us. We usually spray them all when we see the first goose plant on any green which is usually around the 4th of July here in SW Louisiana.

    Andy and John,

Thanks for your reply. I will incorporate Illoxan into my rotation. I was always reluctant to spray Illoxan do to label restrictions under 5/16 inch HOC.

Have used Revolver with Penatrate with good luck as boom spray and also spot spray. Also had good luck using Andersons Goosegrass/Crabgrass preventer. Going 1/2 rates monthly and has kept greens clean. Haven't seen any side effects to this point. Illoxan was used with mixed results.

    Brian,

I use revolver at the .4oz/m on most greens, however the .6oz/m on the troubled greens. Have never tank mixed with Penatrate. Andersons/goose and crab split applications when soil temps reach mid to low 50's for a few days. I get excellent control all all greens with the exception of 2 troubled greens, which have been neglected for years, however I am see less goose now that I'm in my third year. A few tillers pop up on front left of number six green every year for some reason. I was considering a third low rate app of goose and crab in this particular area.
