I used to buy the boards from our office supply store fro $$. Now I just go to Lowes and get the same material for around $10 for a 4' x 8' sheet. A little wood trim and some pinstriping from CarQuest and off you go. I do like the Par Aide boards though and will probably mimic them next time we build one.

Bathroom wallboard! And I thought I was the only guy doing that! ;-) I am looking for a metal based one now so that I can use neato magnets...

A guy just down the street here did his whole breakroom in the stuff. That way he could write whatever, wherever!

Thanks guys, I am also looking for specific extra ideas to incorporate into the boards besides the usual job 1 and job 2, mowing directions/patterns, clean up laps, etc. does any have anything else they add onto the boards?
    Thanks,
    Zach Wignall

Someone mentioned earlier a metal dry erase board so you can use magnets and that's a good idea. I use them all the time to attach notes next to someone's name. If, for example, I want one of the guys to mow tee surronds as his second job and I want him to go in a different order than the usual route, I just have to write down the order I want him to go and put it on the board next to their name and don't have to waste time waiting for him to come in from his first job and there is no confusion (at least in theory) as to what he needs to do. We also left space on one of our job boards for announcements/reminders.

One thing I wish we had is a course map on a dry erase board. You could use it to mark leaks, areas that have been treated when doing large applications that don't get done in one day (i.e. spraying rough), problem areas that need to be monitored (i.e. insect or disease problems), and to help new guys get around.

We use 3 whiteboards in our breakroom.....all I think 42" x 48" ........one has all employees listed, all job duties listed in both English and Spanish.......employees are color coded by classification.......F/T permanent one color, seasonal another color, P/T employees another, and salaried another.........the second board is blank and is informational for posting specific instructions, a note for someone to call home etc , the third board has a permanent fairway drawn, as well as a tee complex, driving range complex and a green for direction of mowing, the skipping of clean up laps, etc etc. We also have a arial map of the course that was used during the sale of lots during construction........boxes of them left over and we use those to disignate, as someone mentioned, irrigation leaks, a tree to be removed, trash to remove etc.......basically gives the employee an accurate starting point for whatever his assigned task may be. Once we scribble on one enough, we tear it down and tape a new one in its place. I do like the idea of the all the walls in someone's breakroom being all whiteboard basically. Our's is not scientific or techie but it works for us

We also list our goals for the season so that they stay fresh in everyone's mind, contact information for staff, pro shop and clubhouse as well as an "Atta Boy/Girl" box that the crew can write down good deeds other crew members have done.
