One thing different this spring and it's not just a social thing, we aren't really set up for that with no alcohol allowed, (funny how full the garbage cans are), but we have a league that they will play nine holes of golf, then head over to the bowling alley over a couple of blocks and bowl a game or two?
I have heard wine tastings are popular. I used to go to a bar and grill where they had patty night, I mean pasta night, (patty was one of the two pretty women bartenders working that night, my wife used to give me heck for it, but she would even call it patty night) but the pasta was good. The chief would have about 10 hotplates with a saute pan going, he would ask what you wanted in your pasta, they would have sausage, spinach, eggplant, green bell peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, olives and probably another half dozen items I didn't like. He would get all 10 pans going, then he would start over and ask what kind of sauce, they had marina, alfredo, maybe a meat sauce and our favorite, pink vodka sauce, (a scoop of marina and alfredo with some vodka splashed in), then he would ask what pasta we wanted, we went with penne, but they had others as well. It was all you could eat and get a beer or wine for $9.99, but we could barely finish the one plate. This was about 16 year ago, so the price might have gone up. The place would be packed, the chief would make a ton of tips, the girls behind the bar made a ton of tips and the restaurant was making big money.
Growing up we used to do nine hole scrambles, we would shot gun everyone on one nine, then basically drink our winnings (or someone else's winnings) after we were done.
