Club has recently switched to an automated payroll system that outsources payroll administration. Staff scans in with a thumbprint, end of week I have to approve etc. Just curious if anyone has issues with this type of system that goes offsite. The company we're using is Certi-pay thru TimeCo website.
    Thanks

With the exception of a company here or there, I have had ADP for about 15 years. Only issues we have had are checks being delayed due to a snowstorm or what have you. But that has been probably at a most 3 times.

We have been using an outside payroll service for the past 6 years and it is easily one of the best decisions we have made.

    Steve,

We have been using a finger or thumb print time clock for the past 5 years. We are a large employer (900) so we purchase the software/hardware. We have had some employees who have had a hard time getting a readable print, generally dry skin problem and the software allows the administrator to set the sensitivity of the print reader. The employee also has a unique code they must enter prior to clocking in. We also put a sign in sheet and a hand santizer dispenser next to the time clock. The sign in sheet is important in case they have a miss read fingerprint which happens most of the time because they are in a hurry and don't wait to see if their punch was validated. I can access the timekeeping software from the internet. It makes it easier to find out if someone has left yet or if the weekend crew all made it.

Kind-of an interesting connection with the golf business. Arnie was a spokesperson for AdminiStaff and Jeff Sluman wore that PayChex hat for a long time. Kenneth Ingram, UMD

    Steven,
We have a had a couple different companies. We had a fingerprint system that worked, but I didn't like that it only updated at midnight each night. Guys would forget they clocked back in from lunch and punch 3 times. Our current system is instant so you don't can correct mistakes at the end of the day and have payroll ready for the next day. Both systems have been mostly efficient.
