How long does it take, from the time you select a seasonal candidate for work, until they are cleared to start work? It's taking us a minimum of four weeks but most usually six weeks. It makes it tough to manage.

    Ron,

It takes us about 3 weeks to get a new employee on board unless we use an emergency hire (E-hire) who we could get on board as soon as they pass a drug screening. After July 4th I only use E-hires since by the time I would get a regular seasonal hire on board they would only have about a month and a half left. The only difference between the 2 is E-hires get Zero benefits and regular seasonal workers get limited benefits.

It usually takes us about two weeks. But, amazingly, when we put pressure on our HR department it could only take a few days. I think they just sit around up there waiting for us to inquire about the new hire.

Not sure why they do the background checks though....I've seen some real good guys get turned down while others with burglary, battery, assault, theft, drug trafficking, etc...get hired....

Our seasonal hires take about two weeks, I think it is more to do with our pay period starts then the background check for us.

I am sure you don't want to hear how good you have it, it can take me up to 6 months and have never been under 2.5 months. We can not even start until someone have left.
