Are there any standards or rules of thumb as far as which holes/tee boxes to place ball washers on if putting them on all 18 holes is not an option? I have only 4 ball washers to place around the course and I am not quite sure the best place to put them. Currently I'm leaning towards #1, #5, #10, and #15. Any suggestions?

I removed most of mine and only left them on the par 3's.

I only have them on 12 holes. Nobody notices except one d@@@ who asked when am I going to put ballwashers on all of the tees like a real course. He didn't like my answer.

I Asked him if he had a towel on his bag, he said yes, I said there, you have a ballwasher on every hole.

We have ball washers on everyone of our 27 holes and on all 100 of our carts and still have golfers complaining when the water levels get low on the ones at the tees.

    Dustin,

We went from having them on every hole to having them on what we consider "starting" holes and all the par 3's. In our case that means 1,3,4,7,9,13 and 15. We get a few complaints but very few players at our course actually use them most of the time as most players have towels on their bags or carts.

We have them on every hole during the season. In winter we go down to 4 with potable water (RV) antifreeze.
In the winter they are on 1, 10, 5, 14.

We have no ball washers on the golf course. I've always been confused by ball washers; where does a golfer want to wash his/her ball...I always thought on the green prior to putting...shouldn't ball washers be located at the back of each green instead of the next tee? I don't ever recall washing my golf ball before I tee off. MHO
