Do any of you receive a stipend to drive your vehicle to work? If so what's the going rate?

I don't, but if it's your personal vehicle I would think $0.56 per mile. Anything over that must be claimed as income.

    Toby,

Managers who drive their own vehicles and don't live in the City get $310/month. If other employees have to drive their personal vehicle for some reason they get $.56/mile.

Keep in mind that IRS rules only allow the per mile credit to be taken after the trip to work has been made. So, in other words, you drive to work, then run to Lowes, then back to work and drive home. Only the trip to and from Lowes counts as mileage.

I was provided a truck that I could use for my personal use for the first 24 years. Tax issues changed from company to company. The last six years I got an allowance of $200 per month.

I am supposed to get $700 per year for expenses but fill up my tank from our pumps. I generally fill up my own tank on my dollar around 8-10 times per year mostly when we are running low at work and when I use my truck for personal things like taking the wife out with friends (we always use our newest vehicle since we each keep our for ten years on a five year rotation of our note). I have not ask for the $700 in a while though since we are already tight for money.

No money, no truck, but we do have one that we use on the course and I have the Mechanic do all town runs, I do not leave the course in the working hours except for luch at times. In my own car. In the past I have had trucks and it was good but I also like this. I was always doing town runs and unsupervised staff gets less done.
Mechanic has a trip log for time and km every trip. (it works).

Just be aware that if your golf course seeks reimbursement the "on road" fuel tax portion each year, you will get fined for this practice if you are caught by the state. If you are paying the full cost for the fuel (including state road tax) you can use this fuel on the road at any time. If you use any off-road fuel only such as diesel with dye in it on the road, will get you a fined if the state audits you on this. I know of someone that was fined $3,500 for doing this.

Working for a municipal operation, the supers who take a company vehicle have $3 per working day added to their taxable federal income and use company fuel. So, nothing extra out of the paycheck, but a smaller return each April.

Good point, but we only use taxed gasoline which is what I run in my truck. I generally only use one tank per month in my truck from the club unless I have some heavy duty runs to be made. I need not worry about the club seeking reimbursments since they do not care about small details (where a small member owned club) only that we are getting the job done. Since we do pay slightly more then you would at the pumps and pay full taxes on it it should never be an issue and its been set up this way for my last 20 years here.
