Is anybody using Color Flex Distance Markers on fairways? I'm thinking about trying them and would like anybody's opinion if they last getting mowed over a lot. Thanks for any replies.

We used them for over 5 years, with varying degrees of success. Last few years the quality has definitely declined and last season, every single marker we purchased broke. It may very well be the particular brand we used (well known) but we will never purchase another one again.

We're using the white flexes from R&R for 150 markers two per fairway in the fairway. Lots of maintenance, golfers will pull them and not replace properly and if the mower operator does not see, they break the stake. Keep lots of barbs on hand. If properly used they are great.

As a golfer, I hate anything in the fairway, especially on the chance I actually find the fairway with my drive. I would be really mad if my drive it something and changed the outcome of my shot.

I only like yardage markings that are visible from the tee in regards to helping me figure some course management strategy.

But I guess I really didn't address your concerns, sorry.

I've used them for 8 years and I have had good success with them. We previously used big white painted rocks which seemed to clutter the course and were in the way of play and constantly had to maintain them(paint/grasswhip). Using the rubber fairway stakes decluttered the course and reduced maintanance and has sped up play a bit as they are easily visible. They also helped aid in direction of play to the green as we have some hilly holes and helps show the way.

The fairway mower has no issues. There was one season where I went through quite a few due to breakage. Not sure if they just were old and finally broke from the years or poor quality. I brought the issue up with my dealer and he said the manufacture had a stretch of poor quality manufacturing product and he supplied me with 9 replacements. Haven"t had an issue for about 5 seasons. Replace about 3 or 4 a season out of a total of 46.
