Just out of curiosity at this point, is there anyone out west that lives within driving distance of a national park that would be interested in doing a house swap during Master's week 2017. I live between Atlanta and Augusta in Athens, GA. It is a two hour scenic drive to get to ANGC. The family and I took a vacation out west recently and would love to see more. On this trip we were able to visit Zion, the Grand Canyon (North Rim), Bryce and the Hoover Dam. All were amazing! I have a 4 bedroom home that could easily accommodate 8 people.

On the flip-side, someone please tell me why this would be a bad idea.

    Scott,

Sounds like a fantastic idea to me. I'm about 1:45 minutes from YosemiteNational Park, less than two hours from Lake Tahoe, San Francisco. Maybe 2:45 minutes to Kings Canyon National Park. You could get to wine tasting in Napa, Ca in about an hour, or just walk up and down my street to four wineries less than a mile away. 3 bedroom + a mother-in-law unit.

I'd of course have t get the wife to approve somehow.

Its not uncommon for the high elevation parks like Yosemite to be snow bound during that time of year

Pete you'd send the guy to Napa when you have a great winery next door to you. in my opinion Lodi wines out class Napa/Sonoma at half the price.
