My mechanic rebuilt the top half of our pump with a new diaphragm (old one was cracked) in the pressure dampener and valves just below the pressure dampener. We recalibrated the sprayer, and we checked all the hoses to make sure they were clear. We are having two issues
    1. We normally spray at 40 psi and 1 gal/k, I am trying to get our sprayer to spray at 2 gal/k but the pressure goes up over 100 psi once we get the sprayer to 2 gal/k
    2. the recirculation inside the tank has not worked since the pump rebuild.

My thought is the pump was put together incorrectly and the pressure that is supposed to go to the recirculation is going to the nozzles.

Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.

First, make sure the agitation nozzles inside the tank aren't clogged. I've had this issues quite a bit in the past on this sprayer which caused the pressure to spike. Also check the relief valve inside the tank as well.

Second, make sure the nozzles you are using can put out that higher amount. You might need to upsize the nozzles.

I do not think I have ever been able to get out 2gal/k. Mine generally sprays around 33gal/K. If I need more water I just cut my chemicals in half and have my guy spray in two directions. While it can be a pain it gets the job done.

In first gear mine I have set to spray 65 - 67 gallons of water per acre, I put it in second gear and I am spraying at 41 gallons per acre. I don't really mess with the raise and lower switch to my right.

I have never really noticed my pressure gauge because when I look back I can't see that far, but it seems to be about 30 psi.

We rebuilt pump with a seal kit at 720 hours, and installed a new diaphragm at 907 hours.

Our nozzles inside the tank are clear, our relief valve is also clear, and I am using a 2 gal/1000 nozzle. My big concern is the agitation not working.
How can you tell if the entire pump needs replaced or if we need to rebuild the lower half of the pump? My mechanic took the pump apart this morning and checked all the hoses, put it back together, and now no pumping action at all...

Is it possible that when replacing the diaphragm to the dampener that is got flipped inside out? I had a crack in ours, replaced it and somehow after firing the tank up it was inverted. We tore it apart again, pushed the diaphragm back out to its original shape and did not have any problems since.

    Chris,

Is it spraying out of the nozzles? Try taking the hose off the suction filter and filling it with water. Then try it again. I have had issues getting it primed and this always helps to get it going.

This is obvious but check that the ball valve that controls the agitation is open.

Looks like we had an air leak in our pump that was preventing the prime. My mechanic replaced all of the internal springs, seals, and misc parts with no success. Then he took it apart and put it back together again about 6 times and it finally began to pump again.

    Thanks for the ideas!
