Anyone have a solution as to why our 2001 Multipro 1250 is not registering anything on the app rate function. Even with all 3 booms on (spraying) nothing is registering on spraypro monitor. Monitor appears to be working as it is registering speed properly. Any help greatly appreciated!

Pull the flowmeter out (careful not to twist it, pull it straight up) and clean the ends of the wheel. There are little magnets in it that have a tendancy to build up with Iron. Will keep it from reading.

Thanks Andy. The magnets on the flowmeter were all gunked up. This has at least now given me a read-out on the spray pro monitor. My next issue is that my pressure control switch does not seem to be adjusting the pressure at all. Have tried another switch to no resolve. This sprayer has not been used in 4 years so am attempting to get up/running. Once I can adjust pressure hoping to be good to go. Any suggestions?

First, make sure the valve is turning. The way it works is it increases pressure by restricting what is flowing back into the tank. I've had junk build up in the orifice before preventing the flow in either directions. Once this was cause by part of an o-ring (not sure where it came from) that was clogging the holes. Once clean, it started working again.

Thank you for all your help Andy. At this point I now have Pressure Regulator working and is increasing/decreasing pressure through the switch, as well as Flowmeter sending numbers to SprayPro monitor. My app rate numbers that are on monitor are extremely high, I have calibration set as "US" and receiving numbers in the 520-560 range. Trying to get "88". Fingers Crossed a Flowmeter calibration resolves!!

You might want to check your calibration numbers. I checked my 500 foot run on my 1250 and it was good,
Then I checked my gallons, according to my Toro manual it says the tank has 164 gallons in it when it starts to overflow. When I ran that water out it would read just over 200 gallons, I then readjusted the calibration on the Pro Monitor and now it is reading great.

One quick question for other users, when I switch from one nozzle to another, do I have to recalibrate the Monitor? I went from my light blue tips to my brown tips and the readings aren't quite coming out correctly after the switch.

    Thanks!

    Mel,

I believe the manual does say to recalibrate but I don't do it every time I switch nozzles. I think that is a bit of overkill. However, every time I spray, especially when changing nozzle sizes, I recalibrate the boom bypass valves. They tend to be off when changing nozzle sizes.

    Thanks Ron,

I didn't think the monitor would have to be recalibrated when switching nozzles, amount of water in the tank and distance would be the same, only difference would be the amount of water coming out of the nozzles, but if the manual says to, it might be what I do, at least for a few sprays at least, until I can get them dialed in. As long as my light blues are putting out the proper amount when I spray greens, I will get the others dialed in for fairway and rough sprays, (mainly herbicides)

Hopping on this post and hopefully not too late.

We have a Workman sprayer that is also not giving us the application rate as well. It has the dial box, where volume and applied area are numbers that never change. Speed is the only working option right now. I've tried resetting the volume and area with no change - it won't go back to zero. I did clean out the flow meter which had bits of iron stuck to it.

    Any other ideas?

I was told by one tech that the unit may be fried and it is well over $2000 for a new computer module.

Unfortunately I think that that tech is right. If the display is frozen for the application and volume it seems that your monitor could have something goofed in it. The other option would be to go with a non-OEM spray computer. Those computers that Toro used are essentially a Microtrak spray mate 2, whole install kit with flow meter sell for around $1100, you would just have to pull speed from the harness somewhere, typically the yellow and green wire in the Toro sprayer harness. Or you could upgrade to a Raven 440 style computer. Would probably be cheaper and easier to maintain in the long run. Let me know if you have any other questions.

This is one of the reasons why I quit buying Toro sprayers. Too many moving parts and too much to break. A few years ago when I needed to buy a new sprayer, I went with the John Deere HD200. All of the parts on this machine I can readily get from most spray houses. And no computer. Oh yeah, and it was about 40% cheaper than the Toro.
