Chapter Leaders and Executives:

GCSAA has been made aware of individuals reaching out to businesses and non-profit organizations including our chapters to gain access to financial accounts and business information.

These are very elaborate schemes. The individuals may mention they work for your bank and are noticing odd activity on your business or scholarship account. The scammers will identify themselves with an employee number to sound convincing. In addition, the scammers may encourage you to contact authorities if you question their motives. This makes their story convincing.

If account numbers or other information are provided, the scammers will likely withdraw monies from your account without you being able to take action.

More than 53 million Americans were the victims of cybercrime last year, and chapters can become added to these ranks.
